Crazy For Bows!

Okay ladies, if you know me, you know that I am CRAZY for bows!!! Not too long ago I was browsing the shoes at Nordstrom when I came across a black pair of beautiful Valentino's:

They were so beautiful they brought a tear to my eye. I touched them ever so lightly, knowing not to bother picking them up to try them on, I would never allow myself to spend that type of money on shoes. As I went to walk away, hubby strolled up. He knows my love for shoes and saw the pair I had been eyeing up. He reached to grab the beautifully constructed leather creations from heaven and I was mortified. I felt like everything was going in slow motion. I felt like I had made a choice to walk away, acting as if I wasn't the slight bit interested. I never let the fact that the price was so high get in the way of reality. All to quickly it became reality. He cradled them in his arms and said, let's go get your size to try one. I could only speak in broken sentences, eyes tearful, "put down, don't touch, let's go." He laughed me off and said "No come on, let me buy them for you." Then, I had to let reality come into my little delusional fantasy I had created for myself. I looked at him and very quietly whispered "look at the price on the bottom sweetheart." He did and he didn't look as if the wind had been knocked out of him as I had expected. I peeked over and let a sour look come across my face. He then said "$69.95, that isn't bad at all" Just as he turned to waltz to the counter, I grabbed his arm and flipped the shoe back over, pointed out just exactly where the decimal point was located then watched his expression. He gasped and almost threw the shoes down and ran. I placed them ever so gently back where they belonged, told them goodbye and never looked back.

After that day, I decided I would find a pair similar to them. Not a rip off, because let's be honest, you will never be able to fill the void of that emptiness. I set out to various shoe stores. I thought I was close to finding a replacement, though these shoes were softer, more dainty than the Valentino's

These are one of the many in the Paris Hilton line. Now before I get to ahead of myself, these shoes look absolutely hideous on! The bow is in an awkward position and the shoes themselves are very uncomfortable and just silly looking. I was very disappointed as I thought I had found a similar enough shoe to the ones I fell in love in. So the search continues.....
